NEW YORK — Maria Menounos says she has a benign brain tumor and has resigned from E! News.
Menounos told People magazine she underwent surgery last month to remove a golf-ball-size tumor discovered in February. Menounos said 99.9% of the tumor was removed during a seven-hour procedure on June 8. She said there was a small chance it could come back.
E! on Monday said Menounos was leaving the network after three years. The cable network said it thought Menounos would tackle her health struggles "with the same fierce dedication she is known for."
The 39-year-old said her face was still numb from the surgery but should be back to normal soon.
Menounos is also caring for her mother, who has stage-four brain cancer.
