Sunday's episode of "The Walking Dead" was a giant return to the show's main characters. While we got to see more of Rick, Michonne, and Eugene, the majority of the episode was a giant homage to the comics centered around Negan and his relationship with Carl.
Comic references aside, several moments from Sunday's episode called back to moments from the last season.

Near the beginning of the episode, glass bottles break and shatter out of one of the boxes in the Savior truck before Carl goes on his rampage.
Jesus sabotaged that box earlier in the episode on purpose. It was filled with Gregory's 21-year-old whiskey.
Oops.
We finally see Negan take an iron to someone's face Sunday night.
Mark got an iron to the face after Negan found out that he slept with one of his wives — Mark's old flame, Amber. Negan doesn't take too kindly to the news that one of his wives cheated on him. While he forgives Amber, who promises to stay faithful in the future, he dishes out a punishment to her ex, Mark.
