"True Detective" and "Beasts of No Nation" director Cary Fukunaga lent his time and talents to photographing and videotaping dozens of stars for the third annual Immigrant Heritage Month.
Julianne Moore, Lupita Nyong’o, Tracee Ellis Ross, Alan Cumming, and Rosario Dawson are among the more than 50 stars donning t-shirts with the hashtag #IAmAnImmigrant in partnership with Welcome.us for the month of June.
Business Insider is exclusively sharing a few of the photos from the campaign first.
Our photos include a behind-the-scenes photo of Fukunaga during "Scandal" star Guillermo Diaz's shoot, and the director's final photos for "Vinyl" star Bobby Cannavale and the cast of Hulu's "East Los High."
We also have the first look at celebrity photographer and director Kiino Villand's photo of "Scandal" leading lady Kerry Washington for the campaign.
Founded by Welcome.us three years ago, Immigration Heritage Month was officially recognized by President Obama in 2015.
"It’s a source of our strength and something we all can take pride in," the president said.
