game of thrones jon snowWarning: Spoilers ahead for "Game of Thrones" season six.

Sunday's "Game of Thrones" episode concluded with a huge mic-drop moment from Jon Snow. After being resurrected at the end of the last episode, one of Jon's first orders of business was to deal with his original killers.

Alliser Thorne organized the mutiny at the end of season five with help from Night's Watch brothers Bowen Marsh and Othell Yarwyck. Olly, the boy who joined the Night's Watch after wildlings killed everyone in his village, was part of the conspiracy as well.

Since season five ended, many fans have been anxious to see Thorne and Olly answer for their treason, and at the end of Sunday's episode, "Oathbreaker," fans got their wish.

Jon hanged them all for their betrayal, and for breaking their vows in the Watch by attacking the Lord Commander.

Though death on the series usually comes with sadness or shock from the fandom, Jon's execution of his killers was met with virtual applause online. Worth noting is that Jon was stabbed more than four times, but apparently chose only to punish the leaders of the plot against him.

People were morbidly okay with the death of Olly, despite the fact that he's a child.

Olly was a show-only character, and one who tended to rub viewers the wrong way. Yes, his parents were killed before his eyes. Yes, Tormund Giantsbane, the wildling who is now buddies with Jon Snow, was there. That's enough to traumatize any kid. But people found his betrayal of Jon Snow to be the last straw, an unforgivable act.

Some people were disappointed that Jon chose to hang the traitors, instead of beheading them.

Jon was raised by Ned Stark, who always said "the man who passes the sentence should swing the sword." Jon took this advice in season five, when Janos Slynt refused to obey an order. Jon beheaded the man himself right on the spot. Is his choice for having Alliser and co. hanged a sign of a new Jon? Or is it just a neater way to punish the four traitors at the same time?

Now that he's leaving the Night's Watch, fans can't wait to see what Jon has planned for the rest of the North. Will he learn about Ramsay (who's now in possession of Rickon)? That was another popular subject on Twitter this evening. Rickon's captor killed his direwolf, Shaggydog.

Will Sansa make it to Castle Black before Jon leaves? Will they work together to save Rickon and Osha from Ramsay's hands? All this, and more, to come in season six.
