tyrion game of thronesHBO is rolling out a streaming original and its first TV project with 2015 signee Bill Simmons, a "Game of Thrones" after show.

Following in the footsteps of "Talking Dead" and umpteen other companion series, "After the Thrones" will debut the Mondays after new episodes of "Game of Thrones" on HBO Go, HBO Now and HBO On Demand. As all HBO originals also have to air on the linear networks, play dates for "After the Thrones" will arrive later.

The show is being hosted by Andy Greenwald and Chris Ryan, alums of Grantland who now work for Simmons' content site The Ringer. "After the Thrones" will offer a weekly recap of episodes and attempt to contextualize its events into the increasingly hefty mythology around the series. The duo, who share the Ringer podcast "The Watch," previously hosted "Thrones" recap pod "Watch the Thrones" for Grantland.

"After the Thrones" comes head of Simmons' forthcoming weekly series at HBO. Simmons is executive producing alongside Bill Simmons Media Group president Eric Weinberger. Ryan and Greenwald will serve as co-EPs.
