It's official: Jimmy Kimmel will host the 2016 Primetime Emmy Awards on ABC.

After early reports that Kimmel was in talks to host, the news was officially announced early Monday morning. Kimmel himself also tweeted the news.

The 2016 show will mark Kimmel's second time hosting the Emmys, serving as emcee of the show in 2012, when it also aired on ABC.

“I am excited to be hosting the Emmys again," the "Jimmy Kimmel Live" host said in a statement. "I have a feeling I’m going to be great."

ABC Entertainment president Channing Dungey added, “Jimmy Kimmel is the consummate showman. With Kimmel at the helm, expect to be at the edge of your seat for a bigger, bolder, and better-than-ever Emmy event.”

The Television Academy also announced Monday that the Creative Arts Emmy Awards will take place over two nights, Saturday and Sunday Sept. 10 and 11.

The 68th Primetime Emmy Awards will air live from L.A.'s Microsoft Theater at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT on Sunday, Sept. 18. Nominations will be announced on the morning of Thursday, July 14.
