Trevor Noah wants to know what happened to the GOP presidential candidates' tough talk.
On Tuesday's “Daily Show,” the host played clips of the candidates boasting about how they wouldn't take any guff as president, followed by news reports showing them grousing about CNBC's debate moderators.
"The Republicans are now trying to baby-proof the whole election from top to bottom," Noah said, pointing out that some of the candidates have drafted a list of demands for TV executives to heed during future debates.
Noah observed that one demand involved keeping the room cool so that they would avoid sweating. "Oh, now you're concerned about warming," Noah cracked.
"How ridiculous are these demands going to get?" Noah continued. He then aired news footage pointing out that the candidates did not want TV cameras to show their empty podiums while they're in the bathroom.
"Speaking of the bathrooms, are you shitting me?" the "Daily Show" host asked. "The candidates are seriously worried the viewers will know how much time they spend peeing? That request has to be for Jeb Bush — everyone knows he's pee-shy. It's not for Trump — he doesn't even use the bathroom. He just whips it out and writes his name right there on the stage."
Noah's advised that the Republicans "toughen up," saying that the job of president required handling tough questions.
"How do you think, in less than eight years, Barack Obama went from handsome junior Senator to black Crypt Keeper?" Noah asked, poking fun at how much older Obama looks now than when he took office.
